I’m in wave 2! I’ve never started that early before.. eeeek!!!! I’m thrilled to once again run as a part of my beloved Children’s team and also as a qualified runner this year. πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’›

Also amazing-I had dinner with my running partner Wednesday night! She is adorable!

I put these on my IG, but in case you didn’t see it-I got these for me and my SIL! It’s the coordinates of the Boston Marathon finish line! On the inside, you could personalize the message. I wrote: “We can do hard things. We survived: BostonStrong 4/15/13.

I am pretty much obsessed with it & I haven’t taken it off since I got it!

On Thursday, I got two boxes of multicolored happiness delivered to my doorstep…

(Brooks Ravenna 5 & Pureflow 3s)

Lately, my feet are really craving cushiony shoes, epecially when I’m running on the treadmill. I think a lot of it has to do with the differences between running on the treadmill and trying to transition back to pavement. Every time I put on a pair of lighter shoes to run on the ‘mill, I would feel little twinges and I end up swapping back to the heavier shoes, My feet/legs/ankles just like the pavement wayyyyy more than they like the treadmill. I never seem to have these issues in the summertime and can run in my lighter shoes with no problems.

I got a terrific deal from finish line on Brooks Ravenna 5’s. And even though I’ve never tried them before, I wanted to give them a shot as an alternative to my Brooks Ghost 7s. I ran in the Ravenna’s on Thursday night for 6 miles. I loved them! The Ghost is STILL my #1 cushioned shoe, but I like that I will have an alternate in my rotation.

I still have a few new pair’s of Pureflow 2’s left, but I’ve always wanted to try out the 3’s. I put them on but haven’t run in them just yet. I’m pretty surprised at how narrow the toe box is, and how “hard” they feel on the bottom. Not sure how they will feel, but I’m going to try them out! I will keep you all posted on how they feel.

And just a couple pics of my favorite new skirt…this one ROCKS…Its the Lioness and it now comes in this fun tropical color. I had to take it on a test drive on a FIFTY FIVE degree day that we had this week!!! (It’s now back down to 30, so don’t be TOO jealous of me :))

Happy weekend everybody-i hope it’s amazing for you.
I’m racing a half on Sunday! Wish me luck!

Does the treadmill make anybody else sore in weird places that they never get sore in from outside running?

  1. This comment is a bit behind, but 1) I have a bracelet like that too! I got it the first time I ran Boston (ironically the year of the bombing so I never did get to cross that finish line)…and now I still wear it every day to remind me I’m working toward that BQ!

P.S Did your Bay State time from this past fall get you into Boston this year?!!! I thought it was too late in the fall!

Hoping to get my BQ there this fall too πŸ™‚

  2. Just found your blog. I’m running Boston this year for my first time after qualifying last year at a local marathon. My sister will be running with me and she qualified at the Providence Marathon last spring. We both grew up outside of Boston and I remember handing orange slices to the runners when I was a child. I hated running and took it up at age 57 and how a little over 4 years later, I have qualified for Boston and NYC. I feel the same way you do, that anything can happen if you put lots of effort into achieving your goal. Hope your half marathon went well yesterday and congrats on you BQ. I ran the Baystate Half a few years ago and really enjoyed the course!

    • I love your story! Thanks for commenting and putting this in here. I love to read about other runners and their journeys! Good luck to you and your sister In Your training! It’s going to be pretty special for you both to do Boston together!

  3. Love that skirt! And the bracelet πŸ™‚
Since I’ve been mainly using my treadmill this winter and it’s always been incorporated into my running routine, I don’t seem to get sore from running on it. But as I’m transitioning outside again and I’m running hills galore, my legs are feeling the difference! Outdoor running is tough, but oh so rewarding πŸ™‚

  4. Good luck on your half! You better wear something hilarious and colorful. Because it is necessary to life, hello. Love that bracelet, and HOORAY for wave2! I have no clue where I’ll be starting (squeeeee). Have a fabulous weekend my dear!

  5. I’m not loving my current shoes but I suppose that’s what I get for being cheap! I ran in Brooks adrenaline for awhile but never tried the ghost. At least not much is going on this spring so I have time to decide on new shoes. Good luck Sunday! I know you’ll be great πŸ™‚

Also those are the sweetest bracelets πŸ™‚

  6. I think the 3s are much stiffer than the 2s but I got used to them pretty quickly. I used to wear the Ravennas and am thinking that when Im back to training i might get another pair to add to the rotation, since my most supportive shoes are the pure cadences. Those bracelets are amazing!

  7. Yaaay!! Love your shoes and skirts you cutie!! You are so adorable!! Love ya!! Have a fabulously fun race and rock it!! I know you’ll get your goal time!! You are FAST!! XOXO

  8. My friend was telling me about the wave assignments. I think her start time will be somewhere around 11:15. I’ll have to look back at the conversation to be sure. I’ll look for you while we’re there. All my years of living in MA and this will be the first time I actually go to the race! I can’t wait. She’s running for Brigham and Women’s.
