What a weekend!

Short and sweet because it has been the most exhausting yet awesome weekend! I’m going to give you the recap in pics because I can barely keep my eyes open right now and it’s not even 7:30pm!!

My benefit was Saturday night! Every year, I continue to be humbled by the generosity of my friends and family…I will get the totals on Monday…but I believe we met our goals 🙂 I’m so honored to be a part of this amazing thing EVERY year! Lucky and blessed.

A long run cut short on Saturday due to Crazy, irrational, aggressive drivers. I swear I always feel safe on the roads…except for this past Saturday!

…I was going to finish up my 18 miler on the treadmill, but I couldn’t bring myself to run One.More.Step. on that thing….
I started..
I Stopped.
Texted SIL.
Called my mom.
Started again.
.25 later I stopped, texted SIL.
Whined about the treadmill.
SIL convinced me to run her race with her on Sunday. And by “convincing“…I mean that she said “why are you doing more miles? Arent you doing Stu’s tomorrow with me?” (Coach and I had discussed but then changed our minds so my legs wouldn’t be crazy sore next week) And in one split decision, I decided to ignore the treadmill and register for the race…

Oh Nicole, when will you learn??? It was murderous… I will never run it again and I can honestly say Boston will be a breeze compared to this.

And oh!
I was asked back by my favorite marathon, the Baystate Marathon, to reprise my role as their official blogger…. I was up late anyway, so I registered for the race before I hit the hay. Guess what? I Was the first one!!!!

great weekend! I will be back tomorrow with mileage totals and a race recap, and Wednesday for a guest post from my amazing SIL!!!!

Highlight of your weekend??

  1. look how pretty you ladies look!!!!! and awesome for baystate blogging! so cool! so you couldnt finish your 18 on the treadmill…um today i stopped after 2.75 miles…and i only had to run 4 today! i kept stopping and doing other things during those miles too. so annoying that i have no problem running a bazillion miles outside…but anything more than 2 on a treadmill KILLS me!!

  2. Congrats on being chosen to blog for Baystate! The 30K may have been rough but it sure beats running long on the treadmill I bet! Might not have been your goal race but a race is better than no race!

  3. So funny Nicole, I am planning on Baystate again myself…..of course I’m in the back of the pack, but when I ran it in 2013 I had my second best marathon time…..so I’m going back for more….at least we shouldn’t have to worry about snow cancelling it out….lol…..great news on your benefit….have a great week!

  4. That’s too awesome to be blogging for your favorite race again AND be first to register! You totally owned that race last year so there’s no one better for it than you. I bet we’ll be seeing you do even bigger things this year!
Your benefit looked like a lot of fun and can’t wait to read more about it!
Can I say I didn’t have a best part of my weekend? It was pretty lame!

  5. Congrats on Baystate and WHO ARE YOU doing the 30k! I know that you technically should have been running a marathon last week but DAMN LADY! Can’t wait to hear the results of your benefit–ps you look fabulous 😀

  6. Congrats on being chosen again to blog about Baystate! And awesome job surviving that race! Like we discussed on Instagram at least it wasn’t cancelled AND it will only make you stronger! Plus it sounds like a hard race was a better option for you than treadmill miles this weekend;)
