Mileage recap and Sunday with my best gal.

This weeks miles have all been fairly easy. I gave myself a pass because of last weeks marathon.

Weekly runs(backwards):
Sunday: 6 miles, 3 easy, 3 sprints
Saturday: 13.6 miles.
Friday: 9 miles… 1:26 minutes.
Thursday: 7 miles in 52 minutes.
Wednesday: 7 miles in 56 minutes.
Monday & Tuesday:Off.

Saturday’s long run was terrible. There were about 86 million times that I wanted to quit. I was fine for the first 7 miles, and then all of a sudden, a wave of exhaustion came over me. I did not want to keep going. I really just wanted lunch and a shower, and the bathroom. Ugh. It was not good.

Sunday was a new day. I woke up very refreshed and more than excited to smash Saturdays crappy run right in its crappy face. Negative splits for each mile: 8:10, 8:05, 7:41, 6:51, 6:50, 6:30. There is nothing like a GREAT run to wipe out the memory of the bad one!

I plan to take my running outside tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it will be at least 20? A girl can dream… I am REALLY fed up with this cold weather nonsense. Winter:..I officially rescind your invitation. Get GONE.

I got to spend a lot of time this weekend with my favorite gal. My stepdaughter is such a funny little girl, and I truly cherish our alone time together. There are about 15 different reasons why we haven’t been able to have a mama/daughter date In a while, so I really took advantage of today.

We started with the Lego movie (go see it, it was great)

And then went to “our restaurant”
(As she calls it) The Olive Garden. Yum.

(two thumbs up for the best chocolate milk)
And no date would be complete without Froyo..

This week, I will be focusing on better training. After a week of nearly all easy runs, I’m ready to get moving, and faster. I’m just going to say it. I like the days when I run fast- it makes me feel a little like a superhero.

I saw this today and it made me smile:

Because sometimes, we feel like this!

Have a great start to your week!

Anybody see Lego Movie!

Ever had a terrible long run?

Run Free, Run Strong!
